Richardson Adult Literacy Center

Buns & Roses Romance Tea

Thank You! Buns & Roses Tea a Great Success!

Thanks to you, our attendees and amazing authors, the Buns & Roses Romance Tea for Literacy was a great success this year. In total, we raised more than $16,000 to support the work of the Richardson Adult Literacy Center.

We truly appreciate your attendance and participation in buying books and raffle tickets, bidding on auction items and making donations to support adult literacy.

The 15th annual Buns & Roses Romance Tea for Literacy and the 1st Virtually Yours Weekend was a success with 105 attendees and 33 authors coming together for three days to celebrate the joys of romance and reading. Due to social distancing, all events were held via Zoom. The authors provided a wide range of experiences, sharing their cultures through cocktails and Latinx dancing. Wines and books were paired, scandals enhanced the baking of scones, the truth about dukes was revealed, and in some sessions, secrets were shared. New York Times bestselling author Eloisa James invited deluxe package holders into her New York City apartment and regaled them with the ease of making pasta. Committee chair and author Lorraine Heath says, “While we missed hugging in person, smiles and laughter were plentiful, and everyone enjoyed a chance to visit with old friends and to make new ones.”
